Andrew Webster QC is a redoubtable court practitioner. The UK Government’s “go to” counsel in Scotland, he offers experience in commercial, public and regulatory work, civil liberties and human rights challenges, property and planning law, and in the area of reparation.
Alan McLean QC has acquired a broad experience and practice in civil law in his almost thirty years at the Scottish bar, particularly in the fields of reparation and damages, professional negligence (with a focus on clinical negligence), construction law and property cases.
Since calling at the Bar, Gavin has appeared before the House of Lords, Court of Session – Inner and Outer Houses, the Scottish Land Court, the Lands Tribunal for Scotland and the Lands Valuation Appeals Court. Gavin maintains a busy practice specialising in commercial law.
Areas of Practice: Varied civil practice (e.g., reparation, contentious property and executry, commercial). Particular expertise in cross-border issues (i.e., questions of jurisdiction, choice of law, and the recognition of judgments), this being the field in which Kirsty obtained her PhD, and has published, led seminars, and given talks.
