General information
After practising as a solicitor for over nine years, David called to the Bar in 2012.
Since calling at the Bar, David has been instructed in a variety of cases, predominantly civil and commercial in nature, and, as well as undertaking a substantial amount of written work, he has appeared in the Outer House of the Court of Session and in the Sheriff Court.
Prior to calling at the Bar, David had experience of a wide variety of cases, including commercial contract disputes, property disputes, professional negligence claims, insolvency proceedings, and personal injury actions. He successfully conducted proofs, debates, and appeals in the Sheriff Court. As a solicitor advocate he appeared in the Court of Session, and represented the successful reclaimer in a reclaiming motion following a preliminary proof in a commercial action. In addition to litigation, David also has experience of alternative dispute resolution, including arbitration and mediation.
In addition, David tutors on the LLB, the LLM, and the Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh.
