General information
Ross called to the bar in 2025 after 10 years in practice as a solicitor. He specialises mainly in commercial litigation, with a particular focus in construction and engineering disputes, commercial contracts, and professional negligence.
Immediately prior to commencing devilling in 2024, Ross was a senior associate at an international law firm where his work primarily concerned the defence of claims brought against construction professionals.
In private practice, Ross was also an associate at a well-known independent Scottish law firm where he regularly represented private and public sector clients in cases in the Sheriff Court and, with counsel, in the Court of Session (mainly the Commercial Court and Inner House). He also frequently represented clients in alternative forms of dispute resolution such as mediation and adjudication.
Ross also has an interest in public law, professional regulation, and defamation. Before calling to the Bar, he had experience acting for clients in Fatal Accident Inquires, professional misconduct matters, and media disputes.
Since 2018, Ross has been a tutor in Civil Litigation and Advanced Civil Litigation on the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Strathclyde.
