General information
Before turning to law, Tracey was a registered general nurse. She undertook the LLB at Strathclyde University, graduating in 2005 and completing the Diploma in Legal Practice in 2006. She has also obtained an Ma(Hons) in Philosophy from Glasgow University and an MPhil in Medical Law and Ethics from Glasgow University.
Tracey trained as a solicitor in general court practice. She regularly appeared in the Sheriff Court and gained experience in civil and criminal law as well as in family matters. In 2009, she specialised in pursuing medical negligence claims and has dealt with many and varied types of cases including complex, high value and serious injury claims including fatalities and birth injuries.
Since calling at the Bar in 2019, Tracey’s practice has been primarily focused in clinical negligence, personal injury and regulatory law. She is a case presenter for the Nursing and Midwifery Council and has worked as a secondee in the NMC’s case preparation and presenting team. Tracey has a continuing interest in family law, residential tenancies and succession and executory matters. She regularly appears in the Sheriff Court, Court of Session and at Tribunals. She has also acted as Junior Counsel in criminal trials in the High Court.
