The Lord Advocate (representing the French authorities) against Vincent Reynouard
Chris Stephen appeared as junior Counsel for the Lord Advocate (led by Paul Harvey, AD) in the recent extradition case of The Lord Advocate (representing the French authorities) against Vincent Reynouard in Edinburgh Sheriff Court. The respondent, a French national, had published videos online which included statements of Holocaust denial. The Sheriff concluded that the conduct described in the French accusation warrant constituted an extradition offence (being “grossly offensive” under s127(1)(a) of the Communications Act 2003) and that the respondent’s extradition would not be disproportionate.
