Two members of Themis Advocates appointed as King’s Counsel
Themis Advocates would like to congratulate Alan Caskie KC and Donald Davidson KC on taking silk. They do so on the recommendation of First Minister, Humza Yousaf, alongside the appointment of a further thirteen new King’s Counsel.
The rank of King’s Counsel is generally reserved for those who have distinguished themselves in practice in the Supreme Courts. Advocates and Solicitors with Rights of Audience in the Supreme Courts are eligible to apply to the Lord Justice General, Scotland’s senior judge. Before making nominations to the First Minister, the Lord Justice General consults other judges, the Lord Advocate, the Dean of the Faculty of Advocates and the President of the Law Society of Scotland.
Alan is a highly experienced litigator in immigration and public law whilst also sitting as a Tribunal Judge for over 20 years.
Donald is experienced in personal injury, public law, commercial disputes whilst also having experience dealing with Professional Discipline, Fatal Accident Inquiries and Proceeds of Crime.
